4.TO THE STUDENT BODY

Doctor Miller is right. We have reached apart in the semester where it has finally hit home. This isn't high school. The teachers are not push overs here. This is college you have to work for grades. If you're given an assignment you have to do it. No matter if its a boring reading assignment that no one understands but the teacher. The work load is totally different then high school. Most of you are just getting out of high school so you're used to things being easy. No one ever expected it to be so tough. This is a huge transition for many of you. But I believe in us all, I know if we just stay focused we can do it.

The hardest thing about being in college is trying to find time to study. Some of you have jobs, wanting to spend time with your friends but knowing you can't because you have to study is the worst. I can say that I always wait until the day before the test before I study. That may not work for everyone but it works for me.

I would just like to say one thing to everyone whose beginning to feel stressed and overwhelmed. Hang in there, soon all this will be over and you want have to worry about boring reading assignments anymore. Ha! Ha!

Your are definately right about it not being anything like high school. Even for an older student like me it has been a big change. Good luck in all your classes.

I agree with you. College is not high school. Thanks for the encouraging sentence at the end of your last paragraph.

Haha yes, that last sentence was uplifting. I agree about studying the day of the test. Nothing helps on a test like fresh info on the brain.

You are so right. So I read the first sentence of your previous blog and saw that you work at Blair E. Batson. I have considered working there. I am a Chemistry Pre-Med major and I really want to work with kids and have thought about applying for summer jobs or something to see if I like it there. I was wondering what your thoughts were about it? Do you like it?

It seems everyone is being thrown off the life boat and into the ocean of papers, readings, and other assignments I guess this is the time to see who sinks or swims. Also, I'm not sure it will be over soon, I mean yeah well get used to it but its not going to get any easier. Anyways, good blog, keep it up!

You have some good advice, perhaps it will all get better, and easier as time goes on. I hope that it does, because some people are in for a rude awakening otherwise. I will pray for you as you face tests, life, and all of the other mesh that makes up College Life.
